Would you compare a tulip to a rose?
No, they are entirely different, they have different qualities, different colours, different make up, different smells, yet they are both beautiful, some prefer tulips, while others prefer roses, some like neither.
Why are you trying so hard to fit in when you were born to stand out.
Comparison is something that many struggle with when it comes to dieting,
Whether that is to peers around you, or a previous version of you,
Neither of which are helpful, they keep you trapped in the past and lacking awareness of the present and your current direction.
Healthy comparison can bring healthy striving,
But most are wrapped up in guilt and frustration,
Why are they slimmer than you?
How can they eat like that and you can’t?
How do they have so much ‘willpower’?
Etc…
I once heard on a podcast - If you invest in comparison, you have to be willing to switch entire lifes with someone else, not just the snippet you see on social media, or their body you long for.
This week, I want you to break away from comparison, to bring you back to the present and acknowledge your own journey, your own direction;
Sit with the comparison
Observe them
What are you lacking in your own life?
(Observing allows you to take action)
Take a step back and focus on your broader life..
Set intentions and goals based on your life as a whole not your body.
Practise gratitude - shifts mindset from comparison to appreciation
Curate your online space, social media is a breeding ground for comparison.
Check in with how you speak to yourself, would you speak like that to your best friends, your family?
Shifting your focus from comparing to appreciating and pushing your focus in your own direction I can guarantee will only give the best outcome.
Let me know how you get on ❤️
